Hey Lovies!

Just a quick little note. I am sneaking a break from writing a 10 page research page that is due on Wednesday. My project submitted last week, was in my opinion not bad but guess what I did? I submitted the wrong version of my paper and didn't notice until I received my grade. Had I double checked, I could have at least sent my proff a note and he would have let me submitted the correct one as long as it was before the deadline. But hey you live and learn. Lesson learned, it only takes one time to make that mistake. Had my turn, its over. So needless to say I did not receive the grade I expected. That's unfortunate, but I have determined that from now on, I have to be ahead of the game. No waiting until that last minute, no half azzz work, I am in this for the long haul and I am going to do well. I don't have a choice. Grad school is not cheap by anybodies standards.

So on to bigger and better things. If I have to stay of all night, my assignments will be as good as if not better than my counterparts. Because hey lets face reality, its not many people that look like me in my classes. So I have to excel, I cannot fail. Simply not an option.

Public Service Announcement: Chris Brown and Rihanna Situation

I just refuse to post the photos the police report and all that business. The whole situation is horrible, I did read the police report and its pretty sicking. Whats more sickening is the fact that photos of him surfaced this weekend whereby he's on jet ski's and having a jolly good ole time while she is covering her face and embarrassed. When did it become so messed up that the victim is embarrassed, he should be embarrassed by his actions. She should be showing her face and going about her business, again she is the victim here.

Domestic abuse is never ok, no matter who you are... That is all...

My Hobby!

http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm/product/1535_122/28-piece-eye-shadow-neutral-palette.cfm

Yes, I have a hobby. Makeup.. Love it.Anyway I found this new palette on Coastal Scent's website. Normally I stick with my beloved MAC, Smashbox and Stilla but I had seen a few reviews on this palette, so I placed my little order. I haven't gotten it yet, its suppose to be at my door tomorrow. But from the reviews, it suppose to be just as pigmented as MAC but at a fraction of the costs. MAC shadows cost, $14.00 per pot and with this you get 28 pots for $21.95. Now I ordered the Neutral shades, because you can wear those colors on a daily basis. Check out this review of this palette on You Tube and this girls hair is fiyah.... HOT

My Life!!

Hey Hey, (me waving), thought I'd sneak in a little quick update post. I am busy busy busy. My schedule is crazy, I mentioned in an earlier post that I was chairing our fundraiser committee for our Black History program at work. That's a lot of work. our first event almost went off without a hitch, keep in mind it was a Frito Pie luncheon. The hitch was......we ran out of chili in the middle of the event. So adjustments had to be made, we had to get more chili.. you know.... yada yada. But anyway, All in all our profit was great.

Now we're gearing up for our second event.... Valentines Day telegrams. Our plan is to deliver the balloon telegrams throughout the building as a fun gifts that staff have purchased for each other. We've done this before and it was really fun. Hence, we're doing it again, hey if its not broke don't try to fix it. So we'll see how this whole event turns out, I"ll post photos.

Oh yeah, I am doing all this in addition to my regular paid work duties.

School

School is not going to bad thus far, I have one class I love and one I hate. Lets see, the first team assignment, had this one lady that man, she would say, "ok, I'm working on my part, I"ll email to everyone shortly". But 2 days would pass, no word. I had already told team mate B, lets have backup plan. First of all team mate B submitted his part, it was incorrect, he just misunderstood the assignment but its a good thing I looked at it because that would have been a bad grade regardless. So anyway, never heard from team mate A until the last day, finally. So to make a long story short, we missed two questions on the assignments, from those two team mates. All mine were correct, yeah yeah ( me doing the running man).Anyway, I'm sure my time is coming to be the hindrance of the group. Just thought I'd gloat early..

Been a Minute

I know its seems like its been forever since I posted, it has huh? I've had so many things going on its crazy. Let me give a little run down, lets see, its that time of year, yep our Annual Black History program at work. So guess who is chairing the Fundraising committee this year, me. Not a joke, I am. Anyway, raising money for such a program is challenging in any work environment and State Government is no different. Most things we have to get approval for, because of all the red tape. You cant use state time, resources, etc. Things like that seem to slow down the process. Ok, enough about that one, oh and I start Graduate school tomorrow. Yep, going for the MBA at St. Eds University. I have two classes a week in the afternoons. So I already know these are going to be killer. On top of that, I have been trying to follow the Inauguration of our first African American President. There are so many things on tv, its hard to catch them all but I don't want to miss a thing so the DVR will be rolling full throttle tomorrow, since I wont be here for the good stuff. The things I have seen have been so inspirational its hard not to want to do or be something great. Because after all history has just been made, and we get to witness it.

I heard someone say on one of the programs, that children today, should pick up a book, have a vision and dare to dream. What a inspirational year we've had.

Barack our President elect, becomes President Obama tomorrow!!!!!

Best High Schools

http://www.usnews.com/articles/education/high-schools/2008/12/04/best-high-schools-gold-medal-list.html?PageNr=1

Does this concern you, especially if you have children. Do you look at your kids school stats? Test scores, academic standing? How important is this to you? Does it determine if you send your children to a particular school? At the rate we're going, this should be very important, because children are going to have to be in high academic standing to obtain scholarships. They're going to need scholarships because parents are not going to be able to afford college at the rate we're going. Cost should not be a deterrent for your child getting a good education and solidifying they're successfulness in this world. Start now, you cant waste a moment.

Beyonce... Sasha Fierce

Ok, its Thursday, the CD came out on Tuesday, yep already got it saved on the playlist. All in all, B..., I mean Sasha does her thing. Betwween her and Mary J, I'm good to go as far as talent goes. They both take it there. Its a double CD, so it has it hits and misses but for the most part I love it. Here the downlow:

1.If I Were a Boy-Hot,love this one and video, loves it
2.Halo-Download, borrow, steal it, love this one too
3.Disapear-Aiight, it works I guess
4.Broken Hearted Girl-Blah, its another track I guess
5. Ave Maria-Kills Its. I love this song, I heard this years ago sung by the great opera singer Luciano Pavarotti. But B.. I mean Sasha puts her own little spin on it,and we all know she can blow. So she kills it.
6.Smash Into You-Confused, its a ballad but the title is a little off.
7.Satellites-.....skip it, trash. You know it has to be one of those on every CD. Sasha is no exception
8.Thats why you're beautiful- Kind of sounds like something from before

1.Single Ladies- This was on the last CD, it was called "Get me Bodied", but I like it. Its make you wanna hit the dance floor.
2.Radio- ?????? Still on the fence
3.Diva- Thats on the playlist, I like it
4.Sweet Dreams-???? Still on the fence
5.Video Phone-Not so much
6. Hello-????
7.Ego-Beg, borrow or steal it, loves this one too.
8.Scared of lonely-Nah, start from beginning, this last song is a little dry for me
